[Bits of Life] I haven't seen this at the newstand lately, mainly because I haven't been looking, but I'll likely grab a copy of Make: next time I go by Chapters...

His Warrior Bride[His Warrior Bride] NY Judge Bans Heterosexual Marriage: "Homosexual marriage rests on the bedrock of judicial opinion," wrote Justice Doris Ling-Cohan, "But heterosexual marriage finds justification in little more than religious myth, antiquated tradition and a few unconstitutional state and local laws. These are all hollow arguments when compared with the firm foundation provided by a growing number of judges."

[Rurality.blogspot.com] Rurality: He mostly talked about NPR's news shows (Morning Edition and All Things Considered), WBHM's excellent local arts and culture show Tapestry, and the Ivory Billed Woodpecker Radio Expeditions story that I wrote about earlier.

Electricdeath.com[Electricdeath.com] [EED] Blog 836 - for your reading pleasure.......: Lurks: The only stuff I read religiously, as in I buy them on the newstand every time they appear, is New Scientist, Scientific American and Nature. I occasionally pick up the Economist and Time but truth be told next to those science mags I read from cover to cover, the next most stuff I actually read are generally articles on the Guardian Unlimited.

Tcj.com[Tcj.com] The Comics Journal: ¡Journalista!: "And that, basically, is the behaviour I was thinking of when I first suggested this idea a decade ago. Reorder availability only goes so far in matching demand -- most reorders take at least a week, if not 2, to arrive -- so the question becomes 'how do you get material on the racks in the FIRST PLACE?' I think some form of returnability is the only real way that makes any sense -- I wouldn't EVER want to get back to the newstand-style 'full returns, all of the time!' model... it is wasteful (print 5 to sell 1) and rife for corruption and abuse, but partial returns are sensible and help all levels of the business out."
