[mip's scan] An excellent addition to anyone who is into building mobile robots. Offers a lot to think about and provides good info on control, navigation, and sensor interfacing which are some of the more complex issues to deal with. (****)

[Bigblog.com] Robotics @ Big Blog: If iRobot has its way, millions of people around the world will soon be retiring their mops and buckets. The Cambridge, Massachusettsbased company is finally announcing the follow-up to its remarkably popular Roomba robot rug and floor vacuum: the Scooba robot floor-cleaning system. It's the first household robot designed to sweep, scrub, mop, and dry tile, linoleum, and wood floors. The company is also touting a major partnership coup: The Scooba's cleaning fluid will come from Clorox Co., which makes household cleaning products. via Extreme Tech @ 7:31 25th May - Related

[Peterthink.blogs.com] Thinking by Peter Davidson: Robots: Just yesterday I read an essay called Robotic Nation, While there is some flawed logic and some sliding toward the deep end the premise that the next 25 years will see the advent of staggeringly advanced robots is right on. Marshall Brain draws parallels between the development of the airplane at the turn of the 20th century with the growth and development of robots at the dawn of the 21st century. Noting that it took only 40 years to go from the Wright brothers to jet airplanes. I would add that it only took about 60 years to go from 10mph flight to 1400mph flight.
